My deepest sympathy Melanie and Pene for the loss of your father.  He was a fine man and I have many fond memories of him.  You were very fortunate to have his love and guidance in your lives.  He has gone on to join the community of souls and will live forever in your hearts and momories.

I am so sorry for your loss of your father, Mel!  Gerald called me to ask if I could accompany him as he sings at the funeral tomorrow.  I said yes, and fortunately am able to be there.  Remember all of your good times through the years.  He sounds like a talented and well-loved man.  God be with you as you go through this time.  It isn't easy, but your family and friends will make it easier to get through this difficult time.

I met Doyle when I joined the American Legion a few years ago. Doyle & I share a common bond, we are both Marines, he served during WWII, & I during Vietnam. Only other Marines, or those close to them can understand this connection. Doyle was always first to volunteer for any work detail around the post, his reply was "I don't know if I can be much help, but I'll be there". He always found something he could do, & did more than his share.Several times when I would vist , we would sit in his living room & discuss life over a Killians: family, history, hunting, the Legion, & of course the USMC.These were all important topics for Doyle, but most of all he liked to talk about his family & frends. You couldn't help but like Doyle from the first time you met, that southern gentleman charm,and his wit. He pinned a nickname on my wife the first time he met her, & has always referred to her by it. Doyle will be greatly missed by all of us that were lucky enough to have known him, but I'm sure that he will tell the United States Marines that guard the streets of Heaven "I don't know if I can be much help, but I'll be there." SEMPER FI old buddy!

I met Doyle when I joined the Legion in Albion. He would do anything for anyone. I used to enjoy hearing the stories of he and my father going north hunting. I know he will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. I know you were close to him. You and your sister will be in my prayers.

Doyle and Jane did the printing for Mom when she started Albion Lettershop and they were so congenial. Doyle and I had fun remembering the past when I called him a few months ago but I was sorry to hear about Jane's ordeal. 

Who will ever forget Doyle's southern drawl and his quiet, gentlemanly way? My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

So sorry to hear about your Dad.  Was such a nice person.  Always greeted me with a big smile and how ya doing Jo.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.
