Edward Brown

February 26, 1935May 9, 2021

Edward Brown age 86 of Albion passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 in Kalamazoo. He was born February 26 1935 in Greenup County, KY the son of Morton and Gertrude (Howard) Brown.

Ed was employed at Hayes Albion until his retirement. He truly loved life; he wasn’t one to just sit around at home and let life pass by. He loved to go to church, get out and visit people, laugh, joke around and have fun. He was a true character and everyone who knew him, loved him. He was also very talented at playing the banjo and would often call or visit those he loved to play them a song (although his family says his playing was better than his singing). He enjoyed working in his lawn as well.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife, Marilyn (Ball) Brown, 2nd wife, Myrtle (Yates) Brown, brother, William “Leck” Brown and sister, Hazel Rouse.

He leaves to cherish his memory his Children: Douglas (Jenny) Brown, Randy Brown all of Albion; Step-children: Gloria (Wesley) Hummel, Stephen Yates all of Battle Creek, Ricky Yates of FL, Dawn (Jay) Robertson of NC; 12 Grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and siblings: Lawrence Brown, Garnet Rouse and Ray (Patty) Brown.

Ed’s family will celebrate his life on Saturday, May 15, 2021 beginning with visitation at 12PM until the time of service at 1PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion with Pastor Jason Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow in Albion Memory Gardens.

So sorry to hear you've left us Charlie! Will miss seeing you around town. We've had our times eating and listening to you play that banjo. My only hope is that I have 1/2 of your energy when I'm in my 80's. RIP my friend.

Deepest condolences to your families. We know they will miss all your jokes and fun times.
