

December 23, 1938 in Marshall, Michigan. He passed away May 9, 2014.
Gary attended Marshall Public Schools and Western Michigan University. He later
returned to Western to earn Permanent Certificates in both Elementary and
Secondary Education. He taught for 43 years, 5 in Cassopolis, where he met his
wife of 52 years, Nancy Jo, and later taught in Springport where he also coached
a record setting Varsity Basketball Team.
Gary loved going to the County Fair horse races, riding his red bike, lunch at
Schulers, watching Sal DeGraw Konkle’s Girls Basketball games and
warm sunshine. He was a member of St. John Parish in Albion.
Gary is survived by his wife, Nancy Jo, his daughter Karla and her husband
Butch Wheeler, one brother, Thomas A. Gordnier, aunts Dorothy Orr and
Mary Perkins, half-sisters, Susan Gordnier and Charlotte West, half-brother,
Terry Gordnier and stepbrother, Gerald Milatz. He was preceded in death
A step-sister, Janice Cornwell, mother and step-father, Elizabeth and
Melvin Milatz, father and step-mother, Gerald Senior and Rose Gordnier.
According to his wishes, Cremation has taken place and there will be
no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2014
at 5:00PM at the St. John Catholic Church, 1020 Irwin Avenue, Albion,
Michigan 49224.
