

Gertrude Elizabeth Stallworth, age 91 of Albion, Michigan. She was born April 18, 1924 in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late Rufus and Mary Anna (Martin) Lewis. She transitioned from this life on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Allegiance Health, Jackson, Michigan. Mother Stallworth married Deacon Matthew Stallworth October 18, 1957. He preceded her in death March 6, 1977. She had one step-daughter, Audrey and a granddaughter.
Mother was a charter member of Grace Temple Church of God in Christ and was faithful until challenges in her health prevented her from attending services. She served as a deaconess, Bible Band President, Temple Choir Member, Member of Goodwill Singers, and served as Chief Custodial Engineer for several years. One of her favorite sayings was “It takes a made up Mind”. She enjoyed singing and testifying in the service! Mother also enjoyed fellowship and dining with friends.
Mother leaves to cherish her loving memories a nephew, Martin Lewis, niece, Shawn Grier, a host of family, friends, neighbors and church family.
Preceding Mother in death are her parents, 2 sisters, Ernestine Brown, Lucinda Howard and one brother, Rufus Lewis.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Mother’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Grace Temple Church of God in Christ, 711 Grace Street, Albion beginning with family hour at 11:00 AM followed by a service at 12 Noon.
