
Of Albion
Age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2015. He was born on November 21, 1934 to Richard and LeOple (Shinall) Harston from Bassett County, Arkansas.
He moved to Albion in 1956, where he met Jana (Lawe), they were then married on August 16, 1958.
Upon arriving in Albion, Jesse became a State Certified Welder. He worked at Corning Glass Works until 1975 when he then went on to owning Harston Welding from 1975 to 1981. He then went on to Post Cereal in Battle Creek where he eventually retired from in 1995.
Jesse was a member of several lodges in Albion; Elks, Moose, Leisure Hour and the Eagles, from where he made many friends.
Jesse had a love for old tractors, his pride was his 1937 John Deere which he had restored. He was also known for his smoker, from which he provided BB-Q for many events in Albion.
Jesse is survived by: his loving wife, Jana; daughter, Tracy (Tom) Needham of Parma; son, Kim Harston of Blum, TX; granddaughter, Bethany (Jordan) Cuatt of Parma; great granddaughter, McKynzi Shea; sisters, JoJanie (Royce) Atkins of Tennessee and Patsy (James) Smith of Mississippi; brother, Jerry Harston of Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr. with a Lodge of Sorrow service at 7 P.M. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. Albion Memory Gardens.
