Josephine grew up in Pikeville, KY, surrounded by the lively strength of a large family that included 13 siblings.
Josephine dedicated more than 20 years to Guardian before retiring. Her years of service reflected a life built on persistence, reliability, and the quiet pride of doing things well.
Josephine’s days were also brightened by the pleasures she loved most. She enjoyed gambling, especially slot machines, and could often be found savoring the simple fun of the moment, whether tanning, sharing laughs, or enjoying a margarita at the Moose and the Eagles while playing the slots. She was a wonderful cook, and she delighted in making candy. Among her favorite memories was riding Moe’s party bus to the casino for her birthday, with The Eagles playing the whole way, an outing that captured her adventurous spirit and her appreciation for good music, good company, and a celebration done right.
Above all, Josephine will be remembered for the way she cared for people. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She took care of everybody, generously, tirelessly, and with a kind-hearted steadiness that made others feel safe, seen, and supported.
