

L.J. was an extravagant, unique, special young man. He enjoyed expressing his creativity through DIY projects, arts and crafts, and baking for his family. He was a compassionate, caring, and loving Brother, Uncle, and Son.
L.J.’s charisma and personality pulled people to him. He touched many people’s lives with his humor and compassion.
He is survived by his parents, Leroy and Gina (Badillo) Ellis-Smith Sr.; grandmothers, Patricia Badillo and Constance Ellis; grandfather, James Ray Jr.; siblings, Sierra Badillo, Larry Gordon-Badillo II, Lance (Bree) Gordon Badillo, and Levont’e Ellis-Smith; aunts, Teon Smith Karnette Ellis, Tarnell Ray, Sharee Graham, Yolanda Ray; uncles, William Smith, Lance Ray, Ray Shay Everton; nieces and nephews, Saniya, Jordan, Braylen, Jayla, Keonte, Kaidence, Larry III, LeiLani, Maya, Lance II, Noah and godson, La’Him.
L.J. is preceded in death by his grandfather, William Ellis; uncle, James (Pint) Ray III; cousins, William Booker, Ashanti Hines, Oneitha Smith, QuWang-Tri Jones.
His special friends; Zariah Kemp, Maliya Frost, Taliyah Nix, and Yolandra Jones.
Special thanks to Wanda Kemp, Marquetta Frost, Vicki Jones, and Christine Estarda for their unconditional love and support. And special thanks to Melissa (Gordon) Macedo for being a lifetime best friend and cousin.
Deep appreciation is given to Patricia Badillo for the love, care, and support she gave to L.J. while raising him in his younger years.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life for L.J. on Friday, March 3rd, 2023 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home at 811 Finley Dr. Albion, MI 49224.
Dinner will be held at the Ismon House following services for L.J. 300 S. Clinton St. Albion, MI 49224
