Linda Baldwin (Lynne) passed away October 4, 2025 after a long battle with Parkinson’s. She was born in Port Huron, Michigan October 30, 1941 to F.C. and Marie Dohn. She graduated from Port Huron High School, received a bachelor’s degree from Albion College, and a master’s from Western Michigan University.
She was a long-time teacher and administrator at Starr Commonwealth and supported Albion’s Festival of the Forks, Chamber of Commerce, and Citizens to Beautify Albion.
Being active and helping others live healthy, spiritual lives was important to Lynne. For several years she facilitated a Pilates class in Albion, was a Silver Sneakers instructor for the Forks Senior Center and was a member of Albion First United Methodist Church.
Education, however, was her passion. She was deeply engaged with the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO), an international non-profit founded in 1869 to help women advance through education.
She also enjoyed having fun, spending hours crafting hand-made cards, working in her beloved garden and decorating for Halloween and Christmas, her favorite holidays. An excellent bridge player, she played in the Hospital Service League and the Albion Bridge Group.
Lynne is survived by her sister Nancy Dohn, her son Michael Fitzgerald (Lark), her daughter Andrea Fitzgerald, her daughter-in-law Yvette Fitzgerald, her stepchildren Elizabeth Wyble (Xelle), Richard Baldwin (Dafna), Kathleen Baldwin (William Tomlinson), and Nancy Sherman (Lee), and by her six grandchildren and 18 step-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, her brother John Dohn, son Joseph Fitzgerald, grandson Kyle Fitzgerald, husband Philip Baldwin, and her first husband, Jon Fitzgerald.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 8th with visitation at 10AM until the time of service at 11AM, followed by a reception with light refreshments at Albion First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers please consider donating in her name to First United Methodist Church or to the Michigan P.E.O. Fund.
