Lola Ethel McClelland age 98 passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at Marshall Nursing and Rehab, Marshall, MI, under the loving care of her family and Southern Care Hospice of Jackson. She was born April 2, 1920 in Couch, Missouri to Thomas Wayman Cypret and Virgie Lee (Bell) Cypret. She married Everett McClelland on August 24, 1936 and he preceded her in death 1997.
Lola loved working in both her vegetable and flower gardens, canning many of the vegetables and she liked making a variety of jams. When her children would walk home from school, they could smell the freshly baked bread that she had made for them as an after school snack. She was also very good at quilting and crocheting. Lola made many table covers and doylies. Although she wasn’t able to go fishing often, Lola certainly had plenty of fun when she did. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She worked Albion College for 16 years and prior to that she cared for her family and home.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett; sisters, Imogene Roucher and Opal (Curtis) Staley, Anne Lou, Carolynn Sue; brothers, Billy Cypret, Paul (Clementine) Cypret, Charlie (Louise) Cypret; infant brother, Sammy Cypret; and son-in-law Sam Pace.
