Loretta Jean Castle age 83 of Albion passed away at home under the loving care of her family on Friday, September 24, 2021. She was born in Jackson, Michigan on January 17, 1938 the daughter of Russell and Florence (Holibaugh) Lockwood and they have preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Castle on April 11, 2012, grandson, Dustin Castle, brothers, Roger and Irving Lockwood and sister, Vivian.
Loretta was a very loving, classy woman who loved everyone, especially her family and church family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, friend and faithful member of Riverside Baptist Church in Homer. She also loved reading and was a very nurturing woman who made sure no one ever went away from her hungry.
Following her retirement from Aeroquip in Spring Arbor, Loretta and her husband, John enjoyed 9 years living in Florida before coming back to Michigan. They also enjoyed their Flea Marketing business together.
Loretta leaves to cherish her memory her children: Roberta (Steven) Howard, Rebecca Rigney, Randy (Marie) Castle, John (Shawn) Castle and Peggy (Todd) Fields, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, sister, Cindy Gibson, brother, Greg (Debbie) Lockwood and special life-long friend, Sue Carr.
Loretta’s family will celebrate her life on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 with visitation from 12PM until the time of service at 2PM at Riverside Baptist Church, 25225 M-60 East, Homer, MI with Pastor Jimmy Collins officiating. She will be laid to rest immediately following in Fairview Cemetery, Homer beside her late husband, John. A dinner will follow the internment at the Church.
