

She was born on August 31, 1944, in Brownsville, Texas, to the late Manuel and Antonia (Hull) Huerta.
Manuela was preceded in death by her brothers and sister Daniel “Conas” Huerta, Oralia Board, Juan Huerta, and Gualberto Huerta. She is survived by her siblings Yahanna Walbroel, Gerardo Huerta, Dianna Lopez, and Daniel Huerta.
She is also survived by her loving sons David (Linda) Tijerina and Samuel (Paula) Tijerina, who brought her great pride and joy throughout her life.
Family was the center of Manuela’s life. She lived for her grandchildren and loved them tremendously: David Michael (Mali'a) Tijerina, Kayla Marie Brown, Nicolas Tijerina, Isabela Giovana Tijerina, Nadia Helayna Tijerina, Kaemon Miguel Tijerina, Hailee Brown, Hana Brown, Ayden Tijerina, and Payton Tijerina.
Manuela worked for many years as a child care provider and as a baker at Felpausch Food Center, where she was known for her kindness, strong work ethic, and warm smile.
Manuela also enjoyed spending time with her dear friends from the Greenwood Villa Senior Complex, often sharing meals, laughter, and cherished memories.
The Tijerina family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Lopez family—Dianna, Manuel, David, Lupe, and Lionel Solis—for their loving care and support during Manuela’s journey with dementia.
Manuela “Melin” Huerta will be remembered for her generosity, love for family, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home on November 16, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on November 17, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
The funeral service will take place at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, located at 811 Finley Dr, Albion, MI, on November 17, 2025, starting at 11:00 am.
