Martha Lou Geyer

Martha Lou Geyer née Bishop, born September 22, 1930 passed peacefully on April 10, 2018 in Marshall, Michigan. She was a graduate of Albion High School class of 1948. She attended medical school at Bronson hospital in 1950 and started work at Sheldon Hospital in 1952 as a registered x-ray tech. She married Richard Geyer on February 16, 1952 and together they adopted their children, Gail, in June of 1959, and Jacob in December of 1962. Martha worked as a registered x-ray tech until 1972 when she went to work at Progressive Dynamics in Albion until retirement in 1992. She and Richard loved to travel in their RV and winter in Tucson Arizona until 1999 when Richard fell ill. Richard was moved to Grand Rapids Home for Veterans where Martha volunteered to stay close to her husband until his death in January 2001, one month short of their 50th wedding anniversary. Martha move back to Albion in 2003 where she stayed until she fell ill in 2014, when she was moved to Marshall for her care, until she joined her beloved husband in Heaven. Surviving Martha is her daughter Gail Geyer Coonrod (Daniel), her son Jacob Geyer, Sister Marian Bishop, granddaughter Samantha Coonrod, and great grandchildren Asher and Cadence Coonrod as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Helen Bishop, her husband Richard Geyer, her sister Doris Simmons, and brother-in-law Paul Simmons.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 10:00 - 11:00AM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI 49224. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 19 at 11:00AM at the funeral home with Pastor John Cantele officiating. Interment to follow at Clarence Center Cemetery.
