Mary Lee Kennedy

August 20, 1960April 10, 2021

Mary Lee Kennedy age 60 of Albion passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 in Gainesville, Florida. She was born August 20, 1960 in Albion the daughter of Tommy and Nancy (Schroeder) Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy (Schroeder) Odell, step-father, Ralph Odell and a brother, David Kennedy.

Mary was a strong, caring and selfless person who always put others before herself, especially her own family. For the past two years, she was traveling back and forth to Florida from Albion, spending most of her time in Florida to help her parents, caring for her father who has dementia. Her caring heart came out in generosity when she would see her community members in need and would give what she could to help.

She also was a hippie at heart and loved the outdoors; she loved gardening, taking care of her lawn and just generally being outside. She also enjoyed times sitting at her table, drinking coffee enjoying the company and conversation of her family or friends and loved going to garage sales.

Family was at the center of Mary’s world, especially her kids, grandkids and nephews that she considered her own. She was the rock of her family, was very involved in the raising of her grandkids and would do anything for her family and they knew that they could always count on her.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory her children: Michelle Pope and William Morse, grandchildren: Maddison Tucker and Mylee James, father and step-mother, Tommy (Helen) Kennedy, nephews: Elijah, Matthew and P.J., siblings: Doug (Rosemary) Kennedy, Anna Kennedy, Paul Morgan, Heidi (Jeff) Glenn, Jeff (Lisa) Van Nocker and Mike Van Nocker and many other extended family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, April 22nd from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion. Services to celebrate her life will be on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 1PM at the funeral home with Becky Ortiz officiating. She will be laid to rest in Albion Memory Gardens.

My sincere thoughts and strength go out to Mary's family and the lives that she so gently and lovingly touched. I was truly blessed to share several memorable years of my childhood with Mary in our family. I will always remember how she was the "ROCK" of her family and made sure to keep her family and anyone that she came in contact with as close and comfortable as she could.
You will be missed but never forgotten!
Love, Susie

I am sorry to hear of Laura's passing. Reading her obituary, I had to chuckle as her being described as a Hippie, as that is what I remember her as. I didn't mean it as a bad thing, as she was always so happy and care free in high school. I know that she will be dearly missed by both her family and friends. As long as she is in our memories, she will always be with us.
