Max Alden Wilbur

Max A. Wilbur, age 82, of Albion passed away Tuesday August 21, 2018 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born April 2, 1936 to Glenn Monroe Wilbur, Sr. and Mable Arlene (Peck) Wilbur, in Parma, Michigan. He married Janet Rumsey on May 21, 1955 and she survives.

Max served with the Michigan National Guard and was somewhat of a mechanical genius, as he was able to fix just about anything. Max enjoyed researching his family’s genealogy and was an accomplished bonsai tree maker. He liked all kinds of gardening and had a deep appreciation of classic cars.

Max is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, John (Karen) Wilbur and Richard Wilbur; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Frank (Shirley) Wilbur; nieces, Judy and Linda.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clare (Dorothy) Wilbur; brother, Glenn Monroe (Shirley) Wilbur, Jr.; and sister, Nettie (Rayburn) Monroe.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday August 24, 2018 at 11:15AM at Riverside Cemetery, 1301 S. Superior Street, Albion, MI 49224 with Pastor Al Henson officiating.
