Pamela M. Simpson, age 66, of Albion, Michigan, formerly of Flint, Michigan, made her transition to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall, Michigan. She was born December 7, 1955 to Calvin and Hildegard (Fleischmann) Black in Flint. Pamela was the middle of three children. She attended Flint Public Schools. She was incredibly bright, attending a school for gifted children from elementary school through junior high school. Pamela graduated from Flint Southwestern and pursued higher education at University of Michigan-Flint, followed by Mott Community College, where she completed her dental assisting program. In 1980, Pamela married the love of her life, Gerald Simpson, and through this union, three children were born.
After pursuing higher education, Pamela began her career working as a dental assistant in Albion. After many years in her field, she transitioned into the most important and rewarding role she would ever fulfill; a stay-at-home mother. Pamela dedicated all of her time, love, and energy into caring, supporting, and providing for her family.
Pamela dedicated her life to Christ at an early age. She attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Flint, where she participated in the youth choir, and last attended New Hope Worship Center in Albion. God was the center of her life, which was evidenced by the way she loved everyone around her and by how she lived her life.
Pamela was known for many things in her community, namely for being “Albion’s paparazzi.” You could find Pamela at every sporting event, banquet, band concert, or gathering of family and friends with a camera in hand. She took candid and action photographs, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Pamela also loved to photograph nature, and occasionally herself. She had a smile that lit up every room she walked into, and an unforgettable sense of humor and laugh.
Pamela had a very giving spirit, and she loved to shower those that she cared for with gifts, both purchased and homemade. She was very crafty, carrying many talents such as polymer clay jewelry, handmade greeting cards and ornaments, and she even sewed much of the clothing that her children wore. She loved thrift shopping and had a knack for finding name brand clothing for a bargain. She adored her children, showering them with love and support, and she instilled values and principles that laid a solid foundation for how they live their lives today.
Pamela was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Black, mother, Hildegard Black, grandmothers, Emilie Fleischmann and Lenora Black, grandfathers, Anton Fleischmann and Jesse Black, nephew, Lamar Black Jr., father-in-law, Robert Simpson, sister-in-law, Evelyn Simpson, daughter, Camille Simpson, and husband, Gerald Simpson.
