Patricia “Peg” Mae Eckmyre age 81 of Albion passed away Friday, May 29, 2020 at Henry Ford Allegiance in Jackson. She was born October 6, 1938 in Albion one of 13 children born to Clyde and Alta (Rosenberry) VanSchoick. Peg married Wayland Eckmyre and he preceded her in death in 1989.
She was also preceded in death by longtime companion Dana Drummond in 2015, brothers: Lloyd, Max, Richard, Robert, Donald and Wayne VanSchoick and sisters: Juanita Duttlinger, Pauline Duttlinger, Betty Ingram, Wanda VanSchoick and Marian Bartel.
Peg was a loving dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved to socialize and was the hierarchy of her coffee group. She had a favorite saying that was also written in her high school yearbook “Friend to many, foe to none” and she made sure to live her life representative of that quote. Peg worked at the Albion Chamber of Commerce for over 20 years. She loved traveling, spending time with her family, loved baking cakes for others and was very crafty. Her family and friends will cherish the time and love she put into making them beautiful homemade cards.
Peg leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Lisa Eckmyre and Dawn (Bobby) Morgan; grandchildren: Adam (Jamie) Wolf, Alan (Cara) Morgan, Jenny (Victor Brandon) Wolf; great-grandchildren: Alana, Aiden and Gracie, brother, Ken VanSchoick (Pam Perry) and countless other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 2-5 & 6-8 PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion. Peg’s family will celebrate her life on June 12, 2020 at the funeral home beginning with visitation at 12PM until the time of service at 1PM with Pastor Tom Mann officiating. (Due to the governor’s restrictions on gatherings we will have to rotate visitors so as not to exceed the limit of 10 at any one time). Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Albion.
