Roger Alan Boehlke, age 73 of Lake, Michigan passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 in Olivet, Michigan. He was born August 7, 1946 in Albion the son of Robert Arthur and Joan Helen (McCoskey) Boehlke. Roger served our country honorably in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Springport VFW. On June 28, 1969, Roger was united in marriage to Sally Fitzpatrick and she survives.

Roger spent his early working years working with his dad, but most of his career was spent as a finish carpenter with Ruff & Kreger Builders until his retirement. Roger enjoyed his time spent with his family at his home on Lake Tahoe, Michigan as well as deer hunting, golfing, playing Euchre, fishing and especially his fly-in fishing trips to Canada. He was a hard-worker and talented handy man who enjoyed his projects around the house, but would also share his talents by helping his family, neighbors and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Robyn Reichow, brothers, Kent Boehlke and James Boehlke.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of almost 51 years, Sally, son, Robert “Pete” (Kristina) Boehlke, daughter, Casey (Steve) Ramirez, previous son-in-law, Troy Tennant, sister, Rebecca Martinez, sister-in-law, Jan Boehlke, 6 grandchildren: Alexis and Russell Pliley, Ryan Tennant, Madison Boehlke, Bailey Boehlke, Kameron Boehlke, Aiden Boehlke, 1 great-grandson, Noah, 3 nieces: Jenny, Jessie, Jami and nephew, Ben.

Services to celebrate Roger’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11:30AM at Springport VFW, 230 Mechanic St., Springport, MI with Military Honors and a luncheon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Springport VFW.

The family is being served by J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, Albion.

We were so sad to hear of Roger's passing. He was a special person that will be missed dearly by his loved ones. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Sally and the entire family at this difficult time. I'm so sorry to hear about Roger passing. I know he and my Dad Clarence Ruff worked together but I also know talking to Clarence over the years that it was always more than just a work relationship! I know he will be missed ❤️
