Roger William Stuart

October 23, 1951October 15, 2020

Roger William Stuart, age 68, went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2020 after a brief illness due to the coronavirus. He was born October 23, 1951 to Edward and Marjorie Stuart.

He graduated from Marshall High School in 1970 and went on to study at Michigan Tech, Southern Illinois University, and Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara.

On May 8, 1976 he married Peg Baylis at Calvary Baptist Church in Marshall. He and Peg faithfully attended church services every week and are members of Grace Baptist Church of Marshall.

Some of his employment included the Malleable, Sears, and Bostik of Marshall. He was a person that had many interests. Besides photography, he enjoyed farming, gardening, woodworking, hunting, and especially building things. He loved working with his hands, and there was nothing that he couldn’t fix or build. He was always looking forward to his next projects and purchasing new tools to complete them.

He loved his kids and grandkids. In the winter he loved to pull them around the yard on the toboggan, trying to throw them off. He enjoyed going to their basketball and volleyball games.

Surviving are his wife Peg, daughter Rachel (Dan) Larder of Marshall, son Pastor Roger (Stacie) of Bourbon, Indiana; grandkids Grace, Megan, Blake and Jack Larder and Ellie and Naomi Stuart and baby boy Stuart arriving in November. Also surviving are brothers Bruce Stuart, Ernie Stuart, and sister Martha Stuart.

He was faithful to his Lord and will be greatly missed. If memorials wish to be made, do so to Youth Haven Ranch.

A Private Graveside Service will be held for the family officiated by Pastor Brandon Crawford of Grace Baptist Church.

Services entrusted to the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI 4224

Our deepest Condolences on Roger's passing, I'm sure he will be greatly missed. But he is home with his LORD, and better off than the rest of us. We will be praying for Peg and the Family.
Roger and I spent lots of time together in Marengo since he lived one door east of us. We played fastpitch softball on the same team, I was the pitcher and Roger was my catcher, we practiced almost daily and played other sports too. We also worked on cars and motorcycles together.
Roger would go with my family and I, on "guys only" fishing trips to Canada. On one trip my dad had a weird habit of eating onions like an apple , well it was Roger's turn to cook supper and he caught dad grabbing an onion from the onion bag and yelled at him, and said the onions are for cooking not eating. Everyone got a good laugh at that, even Roger, although it took a minute. Roger was using his camera sometimes more than his fishing pole.
Roger was a great friend, Thanks for the memories Roger!!!
With Sincere Sympathy, Dave and Kathy Owens

We are so sorry Peg to hear about Roger.
I (Teresa) remember one time when my brother Dave and Roger decided they were going to knock a hornet nest down from a tree out in our yard. They knocked it down and the hornets chased them to the house. We had to put a towel down at the bottom of the door because they were coming in under the door. They did not do that again. A lot of good times with Roger growing up. Also watching each others kids and grandkids grow up. We will miss you Roger!

David and Roger met in 6th grade at MarLee, a friendship forged out of the 8 one room school houses merged to form MarLee. Our hearts ache for you Peg and your family.

With deepest sympathy,
David & Teresa Ousley
