Ruby Kathleen Deel
January 18, 1932 – November 11, 2020
Ruby Kathleen Deel age 88 of Jackson, formerly of Albion passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Chelsea Rehab in Chelsea, MI under the loving care of her family. She was born January 18, 1932 in Hayside, VA the daughter of Leonard and Vianna (Mullins) Deel.
She was united in marriage to Earl Deel in 1949 and he preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 8 brothers and sisters.
Ruby enjoyed crafting, quilting, word searches, watching wheel of fortune and gardening, especially her flowers. She also loved a clean organized home and was a fantastic cook; her family remembers fondly her homemade cheesecake, zucchini bread, apple sauce cake, pineapple upside down cake among many others.
Ruby will be remembered for her outspokenness, her strong will and remarkable work ethic that she instilled in her family and will be carried on for generations. She leaves behind 3 daughters, Jeanette (James) Kipker, Karen “Mickey” (David) Hunt, Patricia (Mark) Benjamin, 9 grandchildren: Larry Brown, Rebecca Hunt, Martin Hunt, Mary Harr, Cory Werner, Lindsey Werner, Ryan Benjamin, Cody Benjamin and Katey Joesph; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and close friend, Carol Bibbins.
A private burial will take place for Ruby on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Albion Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.

she was always a mom to me. when we use to visit her daughter Mickey she was quite often there. was a very special lady. loved her.
