Ruth Helen Stone

Ruth Helen (Hadley) Stone was born on December 26, 1946 to the late Tom Alvin Bailey and Ella Sue Hadley Reynolds in Fayetteville, Tennessee. She was educated in the Lincoln County School system in Fayetteville, TN. As a child she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Fayetteville, TN. In 1963 she moved to Albion, Michigan where she became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist church. She later moved to New Hope C.O.G.I.C. where she taught Sunday School and served as a Missionary. The Lord then called her to Grace Temple C.O.G.I.C. where she was a active member until her health began to fail her. Throughout her life she worked several jobs; she was a Teacher’s Aid at Crowell Elementary, she worked at Corning Glass, Eaton’s in Marshall, a Bank Teller as well as other local jobs. Ruth made history by being the first Meter maid employed by the City of Albion. Ruth made her transition on May 30, 2019 after battling a lengthy illness. On June 1, 1963, she united in marriage to the late Earnest Stone from this union four children were born, three girls and one son. She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters; Theresa (Dwayne) Johnson of Waldorf, MD, Tymico (MKonto)Stone-Hewitt, India Stone of Belleville, MI and Tamara Daniels of Millbrook, AL. Also to cherish her memory seven grandsons; Christopher Stone of Dallas, TX, DeShawn Johnson of Douglasville, GA, Dominique Johnson, Marcqus Johnson of Waldorf, MD, Christian Johnson of Denver, CO, Xzavier Stone of Belleville, MI and Dashon Daniels of Millbrook, AL; three granddaughters, Taylor (Keith) Marks of Canton, MI, Kyerio Stone of Ypsilanti, MI and Anyion Stone-Palmer of Belleville, MI; four great-granddaughters, Taylor Johnson of Douglassville, GA, Nylo Marks of Canton, MI and twin granddaughters due in September; five step-daughters, Desirae Kelly- Kato of Lansing, MI, Kelly Davis of Grand Rapids, MI, Pamela Davis (Ronald) of Savannah, GA, Lisa Davis of Jackson, MI and LeAnn Davis (Jeffery) of Camden, SC; two brothers, Michael (Lanito) Reynolds of Wyoming, MI, Anthony (Janice) Reynolds of Fayetteville, TN, Eric Bailey of Fayetteville, AL; two sisters, Sherrod Redolus of Birmingham, AL, Debra Bailey of Fayetteville, TN; two Aunts, Josephine (Russell) Hadley and Thelma (Clifford) Hadley both of Fayetteville, TN; four sisters-in-law, Mae Frances Sanders of Albion, MI, Lema Nell Smith of Houston, TX, Barbara (Andrew) Hamilton of Tupelo, MS and Doris (Arthur) Jackson of Pittsburg, PA; two brothers-in-law, Larry Davis of Grand Rapids, MI and Walker Lee Davis of Albion, MI. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved and adored; one goddaughter, Iesha Smith of Smyra, GA. She cherished each and every relationship she had with them. She also had several special friends who she loved and adored. Proceeding her in death are her parents, her stepfather, George Reynolds, her son, Earnest Bemarol Stone, sisters, Tommy Fox and Lula Maldonado, her youngest granddaughter, Alereana Stone-Palmer; uncles, Billy, Lawrence, Clifford, Russell and aunts, Sadie and Reba.
