

Herbert and Gladys (Corson) Bormann. On March 19, 2016 he went to be with his Savior while at
Eaton Community Palliative Care, following a two-year battle with cancer. He was preceded in
death by his parents and his brother, Douglas Bormann.
Never married, Steve is survived by his sister-in-law Martha (Beglin) Bormann, and his much
Loved nephews and nieces, Micah (Jaclyn) Bormann, Abigail (Joshua) Gabrielse, Jacob Bormann
(fiancee, Bethany Dickinson), and Hannah Bormann. Five great nephews, Douglas, Maxwell and
Henry Bormann, and Caleb and James Gabrielse, held a special place in his heart. Also surviving
are several caring first-cousins, many of whom attended Albion Public schools, as Steve did.
Steve graduated from Albion High School (1964), earned his Associate of Science Degree from
Kellogg Community College (KCC) (1966), and Bachelors of Science in Aeronautical Engineering Technology from Western Michigan University (1969). Returning to college in the mid-1990’s, he earned a second associate’s degree in Production Technology, majoring in Robotics. His early
work years were spent as a grocery stock-man (mainly under John Kehoe’s “watch”). He was proudest of his second career during which he maintained
and repaired molding machines and robots for Team-One Plastics, in Albion. Retiring in 2013, he pursued interests in reading,
technology, fishing and golf.
He served his second family, members of St. Paul Lutheran Church, as an elder for many years.
He, in turn, received Inspiration and Instruction, and , of late, much love and encouragement
during is illiness. Although somewhat reserved, Steve was a loving, faithful, ethical, hard-working
man with a great technical mind. God kept him strong through life’s trials. He will be greatly
missed by his cats Lion and Callie, his neighbors and friends (especially, work/fishing buddies Joe and Rick), and most of all, by his family.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00PM at
the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finely Drive, Albion, Michigan 49224. Funeral Service
will be held Friday, March 25th at 11:00AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 Luther Blvd., Albion
with Pastor Dennis Matyas officiaitng, visitation will start at 10AM until time of service.
Interment will follow at Albion Memory Gardens.
