Toya Newson - Etchison

Toya was born May 29, 1968 to Horace & Geraldine B. Etchison of Albion. She was educated at Grace Temple Christian School & Albion Senior High School. She moved from Albion to Lansing, Oklahoma, Atlanta and then to Detroit. Michigan where she lived for nine years. Toya was a sister, a mother and

friend to many. She worked as a domestic violence counselor in Lawton, OK, Krispy Kreme in Atlanta, Ga and a manager for Dollar General in Albion and Warren. She was a member of Gethsemane Temple church of God in Christ in Albion. Toya was an awesome mother, she enjoyed skating, growing plants,

making people laugh, cooking and hosting holiday parties for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daryl Keith Newson; parents; daughter, Geraldine B.;

brother, Patrick L. Washington; grandparents, Jesse and Annie Washington and Robert and Irene

Etchison.

Toya leaves to carry on her memory to her children Da'Von RV Porter and Chante' M. Porter; brothers,

Gerome K. Etchison, Horace (Cindy) Etchison, David E. Etchison, Brian A. Etchison-Bey, sister, Le'Ann D.

Etchison; God-sisters, Candace Hatman, Angela Cloy, Verona Coleman and D'juana Grier; great-aunt, Willie Mae Johnson; aunts, Jessica Johnson and Mary-Alice (James) Hunter and her special Aunt Poochie; uncle David (Jacqueline) Etchison; special friends, Derrick Hassan, RV Johnson, Katina Hall, Teresa Smith and Tracy Austin; twenty-seven nieces and nephews; sixty-five great-nieces and nephews and four great-great nieces and nephews, Dylan, J'Love, Parker Rae and Kyndall and a host of family and friends.
