

Wilbur Ellenwood, age 96, of Albion, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his home. He was born September 22, 1916 in Lenawee County, Michigan the son of and Orval and Gertrude (Brown) Ellenwood. On September 15, 1941, in Wayne, Michigan he was united in marriage to Lillian Tapp.
Wilbur was a resident of the area for 67 years, living on the same farm since 1946. He worked for Decker Manufacturing, Malleable Metal, and Albion Housing Commission and was a member of the Albion Free Methodist Church for 55 years.
Wilbur is survived by his wife of 71 years, Lillian, four children, Gene (Bonnie) Ellenwood of Ceresco, Sharon (Richard) Devine of Canton, MI, Carolyn (Martin) Boyd of Albion, Daniel (Susan) Ellenwood of Midlothian, TX; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; three sisters, Roberta (Jack) Krutsch, Kennetha Boughton and Phyllis Cook. He was preceded in death by his siblings Orval, Geraldine, Erlabelle, Louise, Lyle and Cecil.
Wilbur was a dedicated family man and a hard worker whose work ethic has been passed down through the generations.
Family will receive friends Sunday July 7, 2013 from 3-6 p.m. at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, Michigan 49224 where Services will be held Monday July 8, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Albion Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Albion Free Methodist Church.
