Willard Woods

Willard Woods, age 89 of Albion passed away Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was born in 1922 to John H. and Mary Woods in Kentucky. In 1946 he married Opal Burchett who survives.

He was in shipping & receiving for Corning Glass for 20 years then he worked for the City of Albion at Riverside Cemetery for 10 years before he retired. He was a WWII Veteran of the Army during the Normandy Beach Invasion.

Willard enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, walking and the Detroit Tigers.

Shirley (Brent) Hollingsworth of Texas

Sons- Paul (Phyllis) Woods of Eckford

Larry (Brenda) Woods of Albion

He was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mabel Lowe and Edna Garrett, brothers Jessie, Robert and Earl Woods.

Visitation for family and friends Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 6:00P.M. -8:00 P.M. at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, 49224. Funeral Service will be Friday, August 26th at 1:00 P.M.at the funeral home, with Rev. Rick Strawcutter and Rev. David Trammell officiating. Burial will take place at Albion Memory Gardens.
