TSGT Arthur Robert Hargreaves Jr.

TSGT Arthur Robert Hargreaves Jr., age 88, of Maryville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. He was born on May 24, 1935, in Port Reading, NJ, to Arthur Hargreaves Sr. and Julieanna Eva Schneider-Hargreaves. Bob attended Perth Amboy High School. He met and married his high school sweetheart, Nellie, in June of 1955, and they celebrated 69 years together. Bob joined the USAF in 1958 and served in U-Tapao, Thailand during the Vietnam era. He was a jet engine mechanic for Air Force One for eight years while stationed at Andrews Air Force Base. After retiring from the Air Force he continued in Civil Service for 17 years before retiring and settling in Mayville, TN. He enjoyed good music, good food, planes, trains, automobiles, going to car shows, races and he loved nature. He was a social but private person. Bob was a loving and strong husband, father and friend. He walked through fire for God, country and family. May he now lay in peace awaiting to be called to serve his Lord and Savior when He returns.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother John S. Jacko (75).

Survivors in addition to his wife Nellie are his son Bryan Hargreaves, daughter Cheryl and her husband Ronald Dean Blankenship; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and niece and nephew.

The family will hold private services.
