

Jean was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, and spent her early years in Tazewell with 10 brothers and sisters. She spent some time in Hardin Valley before later residing with her sister Shirley at the John Tarleton Home in Knoxville. She worked for 16 years at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where she dedicated many years of service.
Jean was dearly loved by her family and by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a kind and generous heart, and her home was always open to family, friends, and anyone in need. She will be remembered for her love of others, her caring spirit, and the warmth and kindness she shared so freely.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Albert Simpson; her son, Charles Lewis Simpson; granddaughter, Ashley Michelle; great grandson, Chevy Ray Reeves; sister, Shirley Oldham; son-in-law David Everett; and nephew Tony Oldham.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Teresa Carol Everett; son, Charles Richard Simpson and wife, Sharon.
Grandchildren: Shannon and wife, Rachel; Roger and wife, Marie; Brandon; Ashley Jean and husband, Josh; Andrea; and Courtney.
Great-grandchildren: Nathan, Jacob, Austin, Alexis, Kaylee, Dravin, RJ, Grayson, Preston, Benjamin, Autumn, Jaxson, Azelphia, Riley, and Ruby.
She will be deeply missed by her special friends, Jan Gray, Rosa Beck, Anna Fife, Anna Noce, Don Weaver, Paul Raedel, Josh Hiney, and David Gilliland, as well as the many family members and friends whose lives she touched throughout the years.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, at Sherwood Chapel & Memorial Gardens.
