Edward "Gene" Hayes

Edward "Gene" Eugene Hayes, age 89, of Maryville, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Gene enjoyed fishing, working word-searches, watching his grandkids play baseball, and spending time with his great-grandchildren. He was a loving father, papaw, and great-papaw, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his mother and father, Pauline and Ed Hayes; wife of 46 years, Juanita Hayes; sister, Edna Lethco; brothers, Johnny Hayes and Alvin Hayes; niece, Diane Schuler.

Gene is survived by his daughter, Sabrina Davis (Tom); sons, Ricky Hayes (Joan), Randy Hayes; sister, Shirley Scrudder; grandchildren: Haley Davis, Jordan Davis (Lauren), Jacob Davis (Ashley), Alex Hayes, Austin Hayes, Ashley Hayes, Tyler Hayes; great-grandchildren: Jaxon Davis, Karter Davis, Asher Hayes, and Brianna Hayes; nieces, Rena Scrudder, Pam Allen, and Tiffany Schuler; as well as several more nieces and nephews.

The family welcomes friends for a Celebration of Life on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 12:30pm at Sherwood Chapel and Memorials Gardens in the Mausoleum Chapel with a Graveside service to follow in the Last Supper Garden.
