Flora Skeen Harbridge Newman

Flora was born in Kokomo, Indiana to Zack and Roxie Skeen. She married John Harbridge in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1986. She later married Henry Newman who also preceded her in death.

Flora was very active in church and loved missions. Her last and most recent mission was to Russia at 80 years old. Flora enjoyed staying busy as a professional cake decorator, making beautiful wedding and birthday cakes. She also loved her flowers which was very appropriate for her name, "Flora".

She is preceded in death by John R. Harbridge, David Harbridge, and Henry Newman.

Flora is survived by her children, John R. (Ellen) Harbridge Jr., Donna (Ronnie) Russell, and Lois (Sonny) Shanks; grandchildren Lisa Russell, Angela (Eddie) Newman, Jaime Harbridge, Micah (Rachel) Shanks, and Derek (Rachel) Shanks; great-grandchildren Whitney Newman, Lindsey Newman, Miah Manfredo, Ben Manfredo, Noah Shanks, Grace Shanks, Peyton Shanks, and Pheobe Shanks; sister Stella Hayes and brother Glen Skeen.

The family welcomes friends to a Visitation on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 12pm-2pm at Broadway Baptist Church in Maryville, TN, with a Funeral Service to follow at 2pm, officiated by Pastor Tony Collins.
