Painter, George, age 79 of Knoxville, loving husband and father, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Ft. Sanders NHC. Mr. Painter was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Maggie Painter; two brothers, Vernon and John Painter; and a sister-in-law, Fay Painter. Survivors include wife of 57 years, Louise Davis Painter; one son, Doug Painter, all of Knoxville; brothers, Charlie (Slick) Painter and wife, Belle; Troy Painter and wife, Mary; sisters, Ruby Davis, Marie Richard; sisters-in-law, Pat Spivey and Edith Deal; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2011 with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the Sherwood Memorial Gardens Chapel.
