Michael had a deep love for animals—especially his beloved dog, Sally. He found joy in the quiet beauty of the mountains, spending many cherished days in Pigeon Forge, and escaping to Florida when the winter cold settled in. His warmth, humor, and gentle spirit touched many lives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Elsie Hammer, and by his brother Wayne Hammer and sister Carol and husband Bill Rice.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Mary Moore Hammer; brother Sandy (Linda) Hammer; daughters Delena Hammer and Michelle Hammer; stepdaughter Loniann (Shawn) Farris; stepson Tyler Moore; sister-in-law Shirley Hammer; and granddaughter Addison Farris.
A Funeral Service will be held at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., with entombment to follow.
Michael will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who were blessed to share in his life.
