

Known to all as Jim, he was a proud lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Jim honorably served his country as a member of both the United States Navy and the United States Air Force before continuing his dedication to service through a 40-year career with the United States Postal Service in Waltham, MA.
Jim loved Florida and spent his retirement years in Volusia County, where he enjoyed the sunshine, the community, playing golf and a little fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James F. Mernin Sr. and Katherine Perry Mernin, his sister Janet Allan, and his brother Thomas Mernin. Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Mary Ann Mernin, along with extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Jim will be remembered for his lifelong commitment to service, his love for his community, and the enduring legacy he leaves behind in the lives of those who knew him.
