

Watson, James Rule III- age 74 of Knoxville passed away Friday, September 26, 2014. Jim attended East High School and Holston High School. He graduated UT Knoxville with a B. S. in Chemistry; Minors in Physics, Math, and History; M.S. in Curriculum; and Ed.S in Curriculum. Jim was an instructor of music and camp counselor, Interlochen National Music, Michigan; an Organic Microanalytical Chemist; teacher at Doyle High School; and teacher at Oak Ridge High School. He taught math; sciences including Physics, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Physical Sciences, Biology, Oceangraphy and Environmental Sciences; and Photography. Activities he was involved with were SECME, Key Club International, Science Bowl, Science Olympiad Team, Serteens, Yearbook and Newspaper, photography instructor, and Girls Club of Oak Ridge teen basketball coach. Professional Associations were NESTA, AAPT, American Chemical Society, NEA, TEA, and OREA. Honorary Societies were Alpha Chi Sigma, Pi Lambda Theta, and Phi Delta Kappa. Other associations were National Society Sons of the American Revolution, General Society Sons of the Revolution, and Who’s Who Among American Teachers (12 years). Preceded in death by father James R. Watson Jr.; mother Ann Elliot Watson; and brother William Busse Jr. Survived by daughter Celeste M. Watson of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law James R. Watson IV Major, U. S. Army, and Kristen; grandchildren Katlyn Watson, Charles Watson, Trinity Watson, and James R. Watson V; Aunt F. Ruth Fulton of Knoxville; sister Suzanne Watson Teague and husband Ronnie of Oak Ridge; nephews John D. Brown and wife Carla, Patrick J. Brown and wife Emily; two first cousins; and six great nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Lynnhurst Cemetery for 11:00 AM graveside service with Rev.
