Jerry Smith, of Louisville, Tennessee, passed away on September 20, 2026. Born in Washington State in 1946, Jerry lived a life marked by deep faith, devotion to family, creativity, kindness, and a genuine love for the people around her.
A faithful Christian, Jerry’s relationship with God was an important part of who she was and how she lived her life. She was a charter member of Partnership Christian Church, where she faithfully served her church family in many ways throughout the years. She had a special heart for children and shared her faith by teaching Sunday School classes. Her creativity also found a home in her church service as Craft Director, where she used her talents to bring people together and create lasting memories.
Jerry was a compassionate, loving, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a wonderful sense of fun and found happiness in both life’s special occasions and its simple pleasures. She enjoyed sewing, baking, crafting, and traveling, and she was always happy to cheer on the Tennessee Volunteers, no matter which Volunteer team was playing.
Above all, Jerry treasured her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Brian Scott Smith; her son, Michael Jones and his wife, Christie Jones; her daughter, Kelly Jones; and her beloved granddaughter, Bailey Marie Jones. She is also survived by her stepchildren Michael Smith and his wife, Melisa and Jennifer Wilson and her husband Kris, and her step-grandchildren, Andrew and Ashley Smith, and Parion, Alyonna, and Blake Wilson.
Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Lila Post; her brother, Michael Post; and her dear best friend, Pat Reinbold.
Those who knew Jerry will remember her for her generous heart, her creativity, her laughter, and the love she freely gave to her family and friends. Her faith was not simply something she professed, but something she lived through her service to others, her dedication to her church, and the kindness and compassion she showed throughout her life. She leaves behind countless memories created through family gatherings, church activities, travels, homemade treats, handmade treasures, and time spent with those she loved most.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Partnership Christian Church, 323 Partnership Pkwy, Maryville, TN 37801. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m., with the Celebration of Life service to follow at 12:00 noon.
