Jerry was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a brave and loyal soldier as well as a loving father and grandfather. He was a postal worker for many years before he retired. He grew up in Knoxville, the son of Clarence Oscar and Addie Stansberry. He loved trains and telling stories to his family and friends. His attention to detail was legendary, everything had its place and he knew where everything was. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him, as family and friends will attest. There are so many people in Heaven waiting for him to come home, especially mamaw Katherine, his one and only true love, she has been waiting 30 years. I hear that heaven is the most beautiful place and the Lord has given you new lungs and you are breathing the freshest air. We will see you again when our time is right. Rest easy you are now in peace.
