Joe Edward Newman Sr.

Joe Edward Newman Sr., age 80, of Maryville, Tennessee passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2023. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and papaw. He was of Baptist faith and a former member of Victory Baptist Church. Joe retired from ALCOA aluminum after 38 years and was a member of the Tennessee Air National Guard.

Preceded in death by his parents Henry and Gladys Newman along with brothers Fred and James Newman. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Brenda Newman; sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie & Angie Newman, Michael & Janna Newman; grandchildren Whitney, Lindsey, Joshua and Caleb Newman; siblings Louise Dockery and Roger (Amy) Newman; sister-in-law, Brenda Hurst Newman, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

Family will receive friends at Sherwood Chapel & Memorial Gardens, in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum Chapel on Friday September 8, 2023 from 1:30pm to 3:00pm. Online condolences and fond memories may be shared with the Newman family at www.sherwoodchapel.com.
