Lula Harolyn Thompson

Harolyn began her education at Maynard Elementary School, then continued to Beardsley Junior High School and graduated from Austin High School in 1956.

Harolyn's Christian experience began at the early age of 9, where she was dedicated and faithful musician and member at Mt. Moriah FBH Church for 70 years. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents; stepmother Gertrude Mapp; niece Tillia Mapp; sister Dorothy Mapp Mason; stepsister Marjorie Isom; grandson Michael Chesney Jr. and stepbrother William Allen.

Harolyn is survived by her children Felice (Terrance) Boyd, Brenda Chesney, Glenda (Michael) Yarbrough, Carmen (Chester) Wrushen and Joseph "Puddy" (Carroll Cordie) Thompson; grandmother of 9, Myracle, Jairon, Kenjila (Philip), Sequnia, Gino, Taquiya, Joseph, Eshelle, and Xzavian (Audrey); many great-grand and great-great-grandchildren; nieces Sharon (Dwight) Humphrey and Natasha Caldwell; nephew Jeryl Mapp; brother-in-law William Mason and former spouse Leo (Emma) Thompson.

The family welcomes friends for a Visitation on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Mt. Moriah FBH Church, 2001 Western Ave, Knoxville, TN 37921, from 11am-12pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 12pm. Family and friends will meet at Sherwood Chapel Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Hwy, Alcoa, TN 37701, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 3pm in the Garden of Prayer.
