Omer Owen Dyer Jr.

Omer Owen Dyer Jr., age 88, of Louisville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving wife and children. Omer was a graduate of East High School class of 1952. Omer worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at McGhee Tyson Airport retiring with over 42 years of outstanding service. He was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church on Topside Road for over 50 years. He served the church in many capacities over the years including choir member, training union director, Junior and Adult Sunday School teacher, and his most favorites, nursery worker and Builders On Mission volunteer. Omer was greeted into eternity by his beautiful daughter, Kimberly Ann; his parents, Omer O. Dyer Sr. and Irene Mullins Dyer; brothers, Robert L. Dyer and wife Doris and Harold K. Dyer; nephew, Kenneth Dyer and son-in-law, Jeffrey H. August.

Omer leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 61 years, Betty Proffitt Dyer; son, Steven Owen Dyer; daughter, Lisa Dyer August and grandson, James Dyer August and fiance Hannah Murrah; sister-in-law, Janet Dyer; nephew, Keith Dyer and wife Dee Dee; nieces, Karen Inzana and husband Tom and Debra Clayman and husband Barry as well as many other relatives and friends.

Omer's family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Beech Grove Baptist Church, 1519 Topside Road, Louisville, TN 37777 with Funeral Service following at 7:00pm. Graveside service and Interment will be Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 1:00pm at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Hwy, Aloca, TN 37701. While the family will be accepting flowers, donation may also be made to Beech Grove Baptist Church designated for Builders On Mission or Louisville Christian Assistance Center in Omer's memory.
