Born with a spirited heart and a love for life, Patty was known for her feistiness, charm, humor, sweetness, and unwavering determination. She was a true diva; and she knew it, and those who loved her adored every bit of her personality.
A talented cook, Patty shared her gift with many, even catering for the Oakland Raiders, an accomplishment she carried with pride. Her love of food, especially her favorite treats, was well known to family and friends alike.
Above all, Patty deeply cherished her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved being surrounded by those she loved most, never missing her grandchildren’s events and supporting them in every way she could. Her presence, encouragement, and warmth will be remembered forever.
Patty had a fondness for westerns and especially loved watching John Wayne. Whether she was cooking, cheering on her family, or enjoying a classic western, she brought joy and light to every moment.
She became a born-again Christian in 1988, and her faith carried her through many of her health challenges. She enjoyed attending church with her family on Sundays and listening to the pastor speak. Her favorite part of the service was clapping and singing along during worship. The last thing she said about church was, “I know God loves me. I’m going to go take a nap.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Celinda DiMaggio and Victor Farley, and by her three brothers: William “Bill” Farley, James “Jim” Farley, and Michael “Mike” Farley.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Valente Brown , Laura Harris; son-in-law Wes Harris and her son Randy Ratliff; her four grandchildren, Karen Harris-McCormick, Cassandra Brown, Joshua Harris, and Carly Droste; and her great-grandchildren, Emmet McCormick, Jayden Droste, and Ellie Harris.
A committal service celebrating Patty’s life will be held at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Hwy, Alcoa, TN 37701. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. EST.
Patty will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
