Paul was known as a friend to everyone at Kingstown Colony, where his warmth, humor, and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him. A true “gentle giant,” Paul had a heart as big as his smile, and he never met a stranger. Above all, he loved his grandson, Jackson “Boomer” Patterson, who brought him endless joy and pride.
A champion at darts and a champion in life, Paul’s presence lit up every room. He loved deeply, laughed often, and gave generously of himself to those around him.
Paul was preceded in death by his brothers, Jackson Gaston and Don Gaston, and his sister, Elizabeth Gaston. He is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Patricia “Trish” Gaston; his sons, Cole Patterson and Joshua Robinson; daughter, Vanessa Ponder; grandson, Jackson Patterson; granddaughters Hannah Patterson and Katie Davis; great-grandchildren Paisley Patterson and Carlos Davis; beloved mother, Joann Sands; and nephew, Rusty Gaston.
Paul’s legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched, the laughter he shared, and the love he poured into his family and friends. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
The family welcomes friends to a Graveside Service on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens at 11am.
