

Pete was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was marked by service to his faith, his community, and his family. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as Branch President and in many other callings throughout the years.
Pete attended Brazil High School in Indiana and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965. He spent most of his professional career working at Great Dane Trailers in Indiana. Following his retirement, Pete continued serving others as an instructional assistant at Northview High School.
A dedicated community member in Brazil, Indiana, Pete served as President of the Clay County Park Board and was a founding member of the beloved community event, Christmas in the Park. He also served on the Brazil Planning and Zoning Committee and was the first videographer for the Brazil, Indiana Concert Band, preserving many cherished local performances.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes Paullus; his grandson, Quentin Rupp; siblings Teddy, Larry, Cecelia, Clara, and Jennifer Paullus; first wife Jan Atkinson and his special uncle, Bob Dierdorf.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Lynn Paullus; his children, Doug Paullus, Vanessa Paullus Miller, Jason Rupp, and Jennifer Copeland; and his grandchildren, Draven, Brody, PJ, Maddy, and Ellie. He is also survived by his siblings Karen, Mary Grace, Elissa, Tim, Peggy, and Rose, along with a very large and loving extended family.
Pete believed in his purpose on Earth and will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to service, and the love he shared with his family, church, and community. His legacy of faith, generosity, and community spirit will continue to live on in the many lives he touched.
The family welcomes friends to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 3pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 400 Kendall Rd, Knoxville, TN 37919.
There will also be a Service for friends and family in Indiana on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the LDS Church, 1845 N 6th 1/2 St, Terre Haute, IN 47804, at 11am.
