

Spencer, Richard V. (Rick) 68 of Louisville, TN was welcomed by his ancestral family and friends into the arms of his Heavenly Father Wednesday, September 27, 2017. He was an active and devoted member who served many roles in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) Knox 1st and Maryville Wards. Rick was a graduate of Brigham Young University. He held a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Family Studies. Rick worked in manufacturing and IT services most recently for ARC Knoxville. In retirement, he was a certified CPR & First Aid instructor. Rick was a great performer and musician as well as a photographer with a love of the great outdoors. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother; loyal to church, family, and friends. Rick was a man who said what he meant and did what he said. He was a quiet man with a passionate heart. Rick will be missed by all who know and love him. He was preceded in death by parents, Vernon and Norma Spencer. Rick is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Cheryl Spencer; children, Thor, April (Brian) Elliott, MacArthur (Kellie), Richard Morgan (Amanda), Mason, Maya (Scott) Dunlavy; grandchildren, Tristan, Corin, McKenzie, Lillie, Jadyn, Spencer, Ivy, Brooklynn, Dade, Calum; siblings, Jean Moffitt, Linda Turner-Setzer, Susan (Norm) Osborn, Cathy Barnes; nieces, nephews and a host of additional family and friends. Thank you to all who have provided love and support over the years. Family will receive friends Saturday, September 30th from 11am-3pm at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens with Funeral Service immediately following at 3pm in the Chapel at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
