To Shannon’s family, I’m so sorry for your suffering and loss. Shannon and I were great friends while at Tyson and West, and I have many hilarious and sweet memories from our time spent together at one house or the other, or at my aunt’s house on Cherokee Lake. Being together meant it was time to just chill or to rearrange our rooms or to draw fashion ideas or to laugh our heads off or to cry over boys or to talk and dream about our futures- always to the sound of the great classic rock that Shannon relished and appreciated. Goofing off together could brighten a dreary day, and we nearly cracked our ribs laughing about random ridiculousness. I remember lying awake late one night at her family’s house on Highland Avenue when Shannon started sharing out loud her mental list of favorite baby names for her future children… your mom was already dreaming about you three kids! Shannon’s nature shone through her big kind eyes and beautiful smile, and I know you kids were blessed to have a mom with a heart like hers. I’m truly grateful Shannon and I were friends, and only wish life hand’t taken us different directions. I'm so very sorry, Ms. Juanita, Jacob, Rachel, Sarah, Lillian, Frank and Chris, for your unimaginable grief.
