Shelby McNeal, Jr., 91, passed away peacefully at home in Maryville, TN, on April 9, 2026, leaving behind a full and richly lived life.
A man who never let age diminish his sense of play, he was a Korean War veteran, a world traveler, a youth sports coach to many, and the hardworking owner and sole proprietor of McNeal’s Heating and Air Conditioning in Beltsville, MD. Born on January 24, 1935, in West Virginia, he was preceded in death by his father, Shelby McNeal, Sr., his mother, Virginia Pearl, and his daughter, Melanie Rae.
Shelby was a devoted husband, an engaged father, and a proud grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara Ann McNeal, his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Heather McNeal, his daughter and son-in-law, Alayne and Noah Bowman, and his six grandchildren, Justin, Kyle, Shelby, Samuel, Holland, and Brienne.
As we mourn his passing, we remember the deep care, laughter, and love he brought to our lives. May he rest in peace, his memory carried on through the many lives he touched.
