Wadad S. Harb, age 91, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was a faithful member of St. James Episcopal Church of Knoxville. Known as Teta, she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She and her husband George operated Harb's Restaurant for 28 years and made many lifelong friends that was maintained throughout her beautiful life. She was born in Palestine and moved to Birmingham, AL with her family at a young age and lived there until she met her soon to be husband from Knoxville, George. She was very proud of her Palestinian heritage and culture and shared that with many through food, hospitality, and generosity.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Jubran and Labeebeh Shunnarah; husband, George S. Harb; daughter, Patricia Ann Harb.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory sons, Samuel G. (Melanie) Harb, Daniel J. (Rhoda) Harb; sister, Najla (Charles) Sheib, of Oak HIlls, CA ; brother, Joseph Shunnarah, of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, George (Alicia) Harb, Amanda (Andrew) Womack, Heather (Kacey) Reed, Haley (Christopher) Saah, Patrick H. Harb; great-grandchildren, Hadley Reed, Daniel Harb, Hunter Reed, Hudson Harb, Cecilia Womack, Mary Saah, Timothy Womack, George Saah and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Family and friends will honor Wadad with services on Monday, October 30, 2023 at St. James Episcopal Church, 1101 N. Broadway, with a visitation from 4:00pm to 6:15pm with a prayer service to follow. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 10:00am at St. James Episcopal Church, family and friends will go in procession from the church to Sherwood Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Highway, Alcoa, TN 37701 for a 11:30am Committal Service. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. James Episcopal Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
