He was born to parents Frank and Edith Dirksen, on December 22, 1941, in Surrey, British Columbia.
He married Charlene, the love of his life, in 1966, who survives him. Ken is also survived by his two daughters, Nadene (Doug) and Kelly (Don), grandson Alex, sister Frances. Ken was predeceased by parents Frank and Edith Dirksen, his brother Jim and sister Ginger. Ken leaves behind many other very close friends that were all considered family.
Ken's 41 year career with Durand Raute enabled him to travel the world and make many longtime friendships that continued after retirement. Ken loved camping and wood working in his shop. He was known for always offering a helping hand whenever he could. He was a one of a kind, funny, loving husband, fantastic father and grandpa, a genuine, talented man. His sudden passing was a shock for us all, but we are thankful that we had him in our lives.
