Born to Elmina Richard Léger Boudreaux and Thomas Léger, Pauline was the youngest of six and was predeceased by siblings Rebecca LeBlanc, Isola McLaughlin, Lucille Campbell and Normand Léger. Her sister, Corinne White, survives her and is saddened as they just had a wonderful visit in Ottawa. Pauline leaves behind in-laws in the Netherlands and Newfoundland, and a great many nieces and nephews across Canada and in the Netherlands and Dubai. Brother-in-law, Bill Osborne, died on the same day (hours apart), in Newfoundland.
She is survived by daughters Danielle (Greg) and Renée (Tyson) and stepson Dean, and dearly beloved grandchildren, Samantha (Sam), Téo, Miranda, and Amelia. Predeceased by husbands, Philip, father of her daughters, and Ted, father of Dean; and by Dean’s brother, her stepson, Nico.
Pauline was unique in so many ways: She loved and understood philosophy. She was totally French/English bilingual, as are her daughters and their children. In her retirement she studied and became proficient in Spanish. As a teacher of French, she was both demanding and inspiring. Right to the end, she loved and was loved by a great variety of people. She was passionate about physical exercise, including horseback riding, skating (especially on Ottawa’s Rideau Canal), downhill skiing, long walks, hiking and dancing, (to Danielle & Greg’s pub-music). A true and well-beloved friend, she deeply loved and was loved by her children and grandkids. She is already missed by so many of us.
