Stan was born in Kumamoto, Japan.
Stan studied Power Engineering from SAIT and worked for Imperial Oil in Norman Wells, NWT. Soon after that, he met his wife Alice Tsuneko. The family set up roots in Aldergrove BC and started a job with Canadian Occidental as a 1st Class Power Engineer.
Through the years, Stan loved to take the family around the world and on epic camping trips in the “Stan van”. Stan was a stranger to no one and found great purpose sharing in the successes, joys and challenges of those around him. Stan was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in his life. Stan loved to sing with the Sakura Singers and couldn’t wait for the next Venue. His laugh was legendary. For anyone who heard his laugh, it would be ingrained in your memory forever.
Though we are sad of his passing, he told his family that he lived a great & fulfilled life. Stan fought hard and beat the odds numerous times.
Loved and survived by his wife Tsuneko of 52 years, little brother Don, sons Kevin (Monique), Kenji (Katie), Koji (Megumi) and grandchildren Hugo, Amaya, Quinn.
Forever in our minds Dad, Jiji, Otousan.
