Allen Gene Barbee of Alexander Arkansas, age 79, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2022. He was born January 8, 1943 in Little Rock Arkansas to Allen and Doris Barbee. Allen attended UALR to earn his art degree before he was drafted to the Orioles baseball team. He then served in the US Air Force. Later, he worked as a Sales Rep for Hancor for over 20 years. Allen was a member of the First Church of God in Little Rock.
Allen loved to play baseball and earned many awards including, All Conference and All State. He also played golf and basketball and ran track. He enjoyed landscaping, gardening, working in the yard and building golf clubs.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Maddox Brink. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna Barbee; daughter, Christi Brink; grandchildren, Ashleigh Brink & Carson Brink; brother, Cecil “Buck” Barbee (Sue); and sister, Rovilla Bennett (Clarence “Junior”); Step-Mother, Joyce Barbee of Alabama; Step-Brothers Greg Barbee(Darla) of Tennessee and Russell Barbee(Carol) of North Carolina.
Services will take place Friday, June 3rd with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. which will lead into the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Home. The committal will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Humane Society.
Honorary Pallbearers are Basil Butler, Charlie Mize, Cecil Barbee, Donald Mashburn, Greg Barbee and Russell Barbee. Pallbearers include, Carson Brink, Tim Lawson, Kenny Keathley, Larry Deal, Tim Knuckles and Clarence Bennett, Jr.
