

After graduating from New Edinburg High School, Anita started her telephone career for Southwestern Bell in Pine Bluff in 1949 transferring to Little Rock in 1954. She had a variety of assignments during her career which included positions in St. Louis, MO and Dallas, TX. She was an instructor at Southwestern Bell Training Center in Dallas later transferring to AT&T where she traveled the Mid-American region to teach other employees on Customer Service. In 1970 she was recognized as the Public Talk winner for Southwestern Bell in Arkansas. She loved working with the customer to help make their communications more effective for their customers. She received many letters of commendation from her customers. Anita retired from Alcatel- Lucent in 1983.
After her early retirement she worked for Baptist Medical Center as Communications Supervisor. She was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers where she served as President of Quapaw Council. She was a member of American Business Women Association and Chi Sigma Sorority Eta Chapter.
She was a long time member of Temple Baptist Church in Little Rock.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents John D. and Minnie Atkins Livingston of New Edinburg, three brothers Rev. A.D. Livingston, Jack Livingston, and John E. Livingston, three sisters, Irene Lindsey, Theda Childress, and Janice Brown, nephews Larry Brown and Jerry Marks, and niece Lois Ann Livingston Hart. She is survived by two nephews Ronald Marks (Elizabeth) of Bryant and Dr. Gene Lindsey (Sherry) of Wills Point, TX and a niece Judy Kirkley (James) of Crossett. She is also survived by great nieces Carla McDougald, Sheila Keen, Michelle Ashley, Kristi Bass, and Kim McEnturff and a special great nephew Mike Kirkley.
Visitation for Anita will be Friday, March 7 at 1:00 PM with Services to follow at 2:00 PM at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 Highway 5N, Alexander, AR. She will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 10201 Highway 5N, Alexander, AR following the Services.
