Born on February 19, 1933, to John and Rose Larkin, Arlene lived a life filled with compassion, faith, and quiet strength. She dedicated much of her career as an Executive Secretary, a role in which her attention to detail and steady presence were deeply valued. Beyond her work, Arlene’s true joy came from her deep love for family and her devotion to her faith.
Arlene is survived by her beloved children: Deni Carey, Robin Hancock, Joe Hancock (Carrie), and Jim Hancock. She was the proud grandmother of Kristina Hancock, Candice Cartwright, Tony Scroggin, Taylor Pella, Logan Carey, and Noah Balushi, and the cherished great-grandmother of Jaymee Carey, Oliver Balushi, and Carsyn Coley.
She is also survived by her dear siblings, Lois Pagella (Carl) and Jerry Larkin. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rose Larkin; her sibling, Pat Butcher; and her beloved granddaughter, Danielle Scroggin.
A woman of strong faith, Arlene found comfort and peace in praying the rosary. She also had a vibrant spirit that loved life’s lighter moments — from putting together jigsaw puzzles and enjoying games with fellow residents, to the occasional fun-filled visit to the casino. Family trips were among her most treasured memories, moments where love and laughter flowed freely.
Arlene's legacy lives on through the family she adored and the countless lives she touched with her warmth, humility, and unwavering love.
A Rosary will be held in her honor on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 9:00 AM at Pinecrest Funeral Home in Alexander, Arkansas. A funeral service will follow immediately, with interment at Forest Hills Memorial Park at 10:00 AM.
